The Annual General Meeting for Dressage NSW was held on Tuesday, 6 December 2016. 

Four positions were declared vacant at the AGM and four nominations were received from Michelle Becchio, Suzanne Doyle, Jan Geary, Earle Olaisen.  All were re-elected.  Petra Keranen recently filled a casual vacancy on the Committee and was elected from the floor at the meeting.   

After the AGM, the DNSW Committee elected the Executive for 2017.

Dressage NSW is excited to announce a revamped Dressage Young Rider Program to be launched with a Youth Dressage Clinic on 28-29 January 2017. The program is aimed at dressage riders between the ages of 8 and 21 years. The committee of DNSW welcomes Mandy Jones as the co-opted Young Rider Program Coordinator and Mandy will form a dedicated sub-committee to run the Young Rider program on behalf of DNSW. 

The first clinic in January 2017 will be open to all riders 8-21.  Future clinics will only be open to DNSW members who register for the YR Squad Program.

Notification of the meeting was published in the July/August issue of Centreline (page 13).  The Agenda and proposed change to the Constitution was published in the September/October issue (pages 6 and 35).

The FEI General Assembly has today voted overwhelmingly in favour of the proposed format changes for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020, which will now go to the IOC Executive Board for final approval in 2017.

A reminder to Clubs, event organisers, riders and owners to be mindful of the weather and the impact this can have on events, horses and people.

Windy conditions:

We have experienced a lot of windy weather of late with more windy days predicted.  In addition, the hot weather is returning.

We are aware of one accident recently due to very strong winds blowing over the dressage poles at an event.
