Heath Ryan has edged out Judy Dierks in a nail-biting finish to the popular Grand Prix Freestyle event at the 2016 NSW Dressage Championships.

Ryan, riding Anthony Thornhill's Utopian Cardinal, achieved a technical score of 69.60% and an artistic score of 71.60% from the five judges to clinch victory in the Equestrian NSW FEI Grand Prix Freestyle CDI-W with a total 70.60%.

Arcadia rider Judy Dierks has taken out the Mulawa Performance Grand Prix CDI-W at the 2016 NSW Dressage Championships. 

Dierks rode a stunning test on Diamond Star, owned by Vicki Newham, to take yesterday's (Friday) class with 69.080%. 

Heath Ryan on Anthony Thornhill's Utopian Cardinal – the son of Ryan's well-known stallion Regardez Moi - was second with 67.6%, with Brett Parbery riding Gregory Farrell's Aber Hallo 29 in third with 66.280%.

DNSW In conjunction with Hawkesbury Riding Club, has produced two training videos for Judge writers (pencillers). The training session is in two parts and is available for clubs and anyone interested in finding out what is involved in being a writer for dressage judges.  

The videos are featured on the SydneyCDI YouTube Channel and 2 videos are featured - part 1 and part 2. 

Please share the link with your Clubs and to anyone that may be interested in becoming a writer or for current writers who may wish to improve their skills.

Thursday, 8 to  Sunday, 11 September 2016 - Sydney International Equestrian Centre

Dressage NSW is delighted to include a CDI-W into the competition programme in 2016.

The last time a CDI-W was held in conjunction with the State Championships was over 12 years ago back in 2004 when the Nationals where conducted in Victoria.   One of the DNSW Committee’s aims is to raise the profile of “The States” and at the same time give our Big Tour riders another local opportunity to compete in an International Event in front of world class judges.

Pony Measuring will be available during the NSW Dressage Championships on Saturday, 10 and Sunday, 11 September 2016 from 11.00am to 2.30pm. 

The cost for EA members is $10 per pony and $15 for non EA members.  Measuring will take place in the measuring bay located at the end of Block A behind J Row of the main stables.  Refer map.

Owners are to pay the official EA Measurer on the day. No bookings required.

Dressage NSW is seeking someone with a financial/accounting background that would be willing to join our Committee with the view to take on the Honorary Treasurer role.

This position is a voluntary one and support for the Treasurer is provided by co-opted Committee member Judith Wilson who looks after the day to day accounts and Tracey Lesslie, DNSW Admin. Secretary. Other support is provided by members of the Executive.

The NSW Dressage Championships has added a CDI-W to its 2016 program in what is set to be the biggest and most inclusive state championships ever.

More than 275 horses guided by 215 riders have entered for the championships, which take place from September 8 to 11 at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) at Horsley Park. 

The championships will include four days of competition from preliminary to Grand Prix, pony and Para-Equestrian events.

DNSW is committed continue to support Clubs in regional areas through a series of “Regional Dressage Festival Events Series” in key hubs in regional (country) areas. Funds to support this initiative are provided from Equestrian NSW and Dressage NSW.
