The FEI European Championships in the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines of Jumping, Eventing, Dressage and Para Dressage will not be held in 2021 due to the revised dates for the Tokyo Games next year. European Championships in the non-Olympic disciplines will still be organised in 2021.

The most medalled athlete in the history of equestrian sport, Germany’s Isabell Werth looked set to add yet another title to her very long list at the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2020 Final in Las Vegas, USA before that was cancelled due to the pandemic.

After considerable thought and discussion with the Equestrian Australia Dressage Committee (EADC), Dressage NSW has taken the decision to forego hosting the 2020 Australian Dressage Championships on October 15th - 18th at SIEC. This was not an easy decision for the DNSW Committee but the current COVID-19 pandemic and  uncertainty regarding the future makes planning extremely difficult and there can be no compromise on the standard of our national Championships.

The DNSW committee has regretfully made the decision to cancel the 2020 NSW State Dressage Championships and the 2020 NSW Youth Dressage Championships.

This decision has been made with consideration of the current coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic and the associated impact on freedom of movement, the opportunity of horse/rider combinations to achieve qualifying scores and the downturn in the economy with the resultant effect on sponsorship possibilities.

Due to the unprecedented Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic the Mentor Workshop on 3rd April, the C & D seminar and shadow judging on the 4th and 5th April and the CDI Workshop have all been cancelled.

There are no workshops or seminars planned for the immediate future and rescheduling will take place later in the year.

Judges - please do not worry about reaccreditation requirements as this will all be taken into account and extensions will be granted for everyone.

In light of the current Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic with the associated risks to the public including riders, judges and volunteers the DNSW committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the April competition and to postpone the Winter Festival until November.

We will endeavour to run small events in May and June if at all possible.
