New Category added to the DNSW Annual Awards and Performance Medals

 DNSW Annual Awards and Performance Medals will now include preliminary level horse/rider combinations.

The qualifying period for the 2021 preliminary annual awards will be from 1st September 2020 up to and including the 2021 State Dressage Championships.

Performance Medal Criteria – 3 performances achieving scores equal to and above:

Bronze Medal    67%

Silver Medal       70%

Gold Medal         74%

Riders must be financial members of DNSW, all official competitions in NSW elibble.

2020 Annual Awards and Performance Medals Cancelled

Due to the devastating effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on equestrian sport in NSW the DNSW committee has made the decision to cancel the prestigious DNSW Annual Awards and Performance Medals in 2020.

The 2021 Annual Awards and Performance Medals will be determined on performances achieved during the period from the end of the 2019 NSW Dressage Championships up to and including the 2021 NSW Dressage Championships.

The 2020 Pirouettes Party has also been cancelled due to the restrictions on social gatherings, and due to restrictions in place at the Hawkesbury Racecourse.

NSW Riders Representative

DNSW extends a warm welcome to Alycia Targa who is the new NSW Riders Representative, taking over from Lizzie Wilson-Fellows.

Alycia is a professional dressage and was the FEI Riders Representative at both Sydney and Willinga Park CDIs.   

In addition Alycia is the President of the Shoalhaven Dressage Club, a position she has held for the past 5 years and she has been on the committee for 8 years.

Welcome Di Saunders Clarendon Event Secretary

Welcome Di Saunders Clarendon Event Secretary

DNSW is pleased to welcome Di Saunders to the role of Clarendon Event Secretary, taking over from Marjolyn Thomas who has is nearing the end of the 12 months she committed to in January this year.

Di describes herself as a “horse tragic”. She started riding as an 11-year-old and remains an active rider today.

She works in the EA office as a Sports Service Officer, acting as the EA liaison with the National Discipline Committees.

Lizzie Wilson-Fellows has stood down from the role of NSW Riders Representative after 4 years - many thanks Lizzie!

Expressions of Interest for this position are now being sought from NSW riders. Anyone meeting the criteria in the position description is welcome to apply.

Applications close on August 31st 2020.

Voting will take place on-line after the close date.

DNSW Membership

DNSW Membership

Recently, as a show of support for our members during this time of Covid-19 the DNSW committee decided to extend memberhsip to 1st October 2020 for existing members.

This decision has been reviewed and membership is now extended to 1st January 2021.

The renewal fee will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Members who have renewed their membership will receive a refund for the period to 31st December. 

We hope all our members are safe and well, and training those horses.
