Sydney CDLITE 2021 Pryde’s Easifeeds Intermediate II

After 2 years, what a delight it was to see Cheval de Luxe cantering up centreline as the first horse to commence competition today at the Sydney CDLITE in the Intermediate II.

As the countdown ticks to the 2021 Sydney CDLite, it really is a welcome back to what many of us think of as ‘Dressage Central’ at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, 21 years after the fabulous Sydney Olympic Games.

Parochial? Maybe, but just the thought of the Sydney CDI can automatically generate great memories, special performances of champion horses long retired or gone, and the special camaraderie of riders, judges, volunteers and spectators that comes with being together again, especially in an Olympic year.

Judging without a writer and/or judges being obliged to write their own scores is considered by Dressage NSW to be unacceptable and is in breach of EA National Dressage Rule G.8.1. which reads in part:     “each judge must be allocated a capable writer”.

Judging without a writer and scoring without comments is not condoned by DNSW and this position is supported by ENSW and the EADC.  Dressage NSW views this as an undesirable judging practice and strongly recommends that judges reconsider any invitations where they have accepted to judge under these conditions.

Enjoy a High Tea on the Terraces at the C end of the Indoor Arena, while watching the Equestrian NSW Grand Prix Freestyle.

Served on long tables seating six (6) people, bookings of less than six will join other guests.

General admission tickets will be available for spectators on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Admission is $10.00 per day. 

Bookings open on Monday, 8 March 2021

Spectators may also register to attend on Wednesday, 28 April for the Intermediate II competition (approx 12noon to 4pm)  and admission is free on that day.

The FEI has cancelled international events in 10 countries on the European mainland with immediate effect and until 28 March 2021 due to the rapid evolution of a very aggressive strain of the neurological form of Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1), which originated in Valencia (ESP) and has already resulted in related outbreaks in at least three other countries in Europe.
