Reach for the Stars at the 2023 Sydney CDI

An important notice to competitors:

At the forthcoming prestigious Sydney CDI event at SIEC, Australia’s dressage riders will find a range of one-star and three-star CDI classes on the program which so many of you have requested.

Recently CDI participation in this country has waned. This is concerning as it could result in these events decreasing around Australia which would be devastating for dressage in Australia. It is appreciated that entry fees are considered high but the costs of running a CDI, like the one in April, are significant and increasing annually. Flying and hosting the international judges in Sydney will be in the vicinity of $50,000.

Offered at this event is a comprehensive range of approved FEI-sanctioned competitions – a CDI 1* for FEI Small Tour, in addition to CDNs at this level. A CDI 1* along with all CDIs (CDI3*, CDIU25, CDIY and CDIJ) will be judged by FEI-accredited judges as per FEI rules for a CDI.

CDI1* competitors should note FEI passports are not required but horses must have an EA passport, and horse and rider must be FEI-registered.

CDI1* horses may compete in either a snaffle or double bridle and participation doesn’t impact on a rider’s EA Amateur status.

Get behind these events and go in front of international judges. A competitor increase will help attract sponsorship, and assist in CDI classes being offered in the future.

So, in April, do please consider participating – and reach for those stars.
